Barnes Retains Ulster Title - April 25th

Irish 2008 Olympian and senior champion Paddy Barnes retained his light flyweight provincial crown after receiving a walkover at the Ulster Senior Championships at the Anderstown Leisure Centre in Belfast last night.EU silver medalist and Irish super heavyweight champion Cathal McMonagle also received a walkover in the 91Kg+ final.Nineteen year old Shane McGuigan, a son of former Irish Olympian Barry McGuigan, claimed his first senior title after out -pointing (26-13) talented Dungloe southpaw Cathal McCauley in a thrilling welterweight final.
